Forest, Meadow, Marsh at Maison Louis Carré: drawings and watercolours of imagined gardens pinned to a white wall, a perfume bottle on a tree stump on a side table

Three proposals for the garden of Maison Louis Carré. The lawn of the house designed by Alvar Aalto turns into a dense forest, a blooming meadow or a water-soaked marsh. Collage-like drawings and watercolours show what the place could look like, and the imagined scent of each landscape is captured in a perfume bottle.

The work questions the lawn, even at such a valuable architectural site. A more diverse garden could be a refuge for plants, insects and birds in an age of mass extinction.

Kolme ehdotusta Maison Louis Carrén puutarhalle. Alvar Aallon suunnitteleman talon nurmikko muuttuu tiheäksi metsäksi, kukkivaksi niityksi tai vetiseksi rämeeksi. Kollaasimaiset piirustukset ja akvarellit näyttävät, miltä paikka voisi näyttää, ja jokaisen maiseman kuviteltu tuoksu on parfyymipullossa.

Teos kyseenalaistaa nurmikon jopa arvokkaassa arkkitehtuurikohteessa. Monimuotoisempi puutarha voisi olla turvapaikka kasveille, hyönteisille ja linnuille sukupuuttojen aikakaudella.
