Jurassic Forest

A speculative forest from the Jurassic period. Tree ferns, conifers and other plants from ancient lineages stand in soil on glass pedestals in the large exhibition hall. Together they form an environment for a scent I made for the exhibition – an attempt to approach a world no human has ever smelled.

On stacked bricks, spray bottles hold a deep scent of forest and earth that visitors can release themselves.

Spekulatiivinen metsä jurakaudelta. Puusaniaiset, havupuut ja muut ikivanhoihin sukulinjoihin kuuluvat kasvit seisovat mullassa lasijalustoilla suuressa näyttelysalissa. Yhdessä ne muodostavat ympäristön tuoksulle, jonka tein näyttelyä varten – yritykselle lähestyä maailmaa, jota yksikään ihminen ei ole haistanut.

Pinottujen tiilten päällä on suihkepulloja, joista kävijä voi itse levittää syvää metsän ja mullan tuoksua.
