Eau de Terre is the scent of soil in the form of a perfume. It is the earthy, rooty smell that rises when you push aside moss in a forest and dig into the ground: microbes, fungal mycelium, roots and decaying matter. Life that happens out of sight, but that all other life depends on.

The scent sits in a perfume bottle, an object loaded with cultural meaning. You can smell it from the bottle or spray it on your skin, bringing living soil into an intimate, personal space. The work is about the symbiotic relationship between humans and soil, one that Western thinking has often cut off.

Eau de Terre on maan tuoksu parfyymin muodossa.
